Introduction: Frosted Frames

These opaque frames are a hit in my family and make great gifts.

If you buy everything brand-new, this project costs near $6 from the Clam depot. But, nearly of the materials are credibly already in your house.

Step 1: Materials

You will need
*A picture frame
*String lights (I victimised ace with 20 bulbs)
*Spray adhesive
*Masking Tape
*A cup of Epsom Salt
*Aluminum foil
*Crack glue (optional)

Step 2: The Frame

Take apart the soma.
Set parenthesis all the other pieces except the glass.

Tread 3: The Words

Using your masking tape recording, sketch stunned the words OR pictures you would like to be the focus of your cast. It leave act as a sort of stencil.

You can use a mirror to help you with drawing rearwards but in this case I retributive kept turning it over to reckon at information technology and make a point it was how I likeable it.

*Masking paper is perfect for this because it's easily manipulated. It is easy to tear to make shapes and is easily emotional subsequently it was stuck down. So you can arrange it a some times until you get the picture you want.

Step 4: Exploitation the Adhesive

It's advised to use spray adhesive in a well ventilated area so, I took the glass in piece, and the cup of epsom tasty outside.

With the taped lateral up, spray the full surface with the adhesive.

So splash the Epsom salt all all over it. (Like you would glitter on glue)

Because I dont want the tape to stick forever, I used the directions for a acting halt. The adhesive I used said to let it put down for 3 minutes.*Follow the instructions for the nebulise adhesive you have for a temporary harbor*

Step 5: Design Reveal

Next, pour remove all the excess epsom sharp.

Then carefully peel off the tape.

Your intention should now appear in the Epsom salt!

Set up it aside and allow to dry completely.

Step 6: Shimmer and Shine

To make the desktop look cold and the lights muse, simply tape a assemble of aluminum foil (or shiny wrapping paper) to the back piece of the frame.

Tear a piece of foil a little bigger than the frame backing, and then tape it happening.(Here's where your large glue could come in handy if you don't want to tape measure it) I didn't worry about how it looked because it's on the dorsum.

Step 7: Lights!

Adjacent, tape the lights near the edges of the aluminum cross piece. Try to arrange it so the cord hangs down at the bottom.

Footprint 8: Assemble!

1)Lay the frame face toss off
2)Place the glass picture inside the put.
3)Put the light board on so the lights are inside.

Close the notches of the systema skeletale.

Chances are, the lights will keep information technology from proper in perfectly. No worries, clean tape it up! Gotta love that masking paper :)

Step 9: Enjoy!

Plug it in OR turn on the assault and battery pack and look at the pretty frosted frame you just successful!

Step 10: Go Crazy!

If you're anything corresponding ME, now that you have the basics, you'll go crazy with these. Change it skyward and do some designs you deprivation- add glue wherever you want, and even tote up embellishments!

For the snowman frame, I colored the tape recording and inning with a gold marker so it looks like a windowpane. Super Glue and epsom salt are alone around the edges for the frost. I gelded the snowman out of construction report :)

If you make this please share the pictures. I'd dear to see what you find with!
